Dr Andrew Mackay

Dr Andrew Mackay is a fully licensed, registered and dual accredited Consultant in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine based in Glasgow. Having qualified in medicine from the University of Dundee in 2001, he gained experience in medicine, surgery, general practice and emergency medicine before pursuing a career in anaesthesia.

His specialist training took place in the West of Scotland and after becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists and gaining the European Diploma in Intensive Care, he gained entry to the General Medical Council Specialist Register in 2010 and was appointed as a Consultant. Following his appointment he became a Founding Fellow of the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine in 2011. He currently works at a large teaching hospital in Glasgow where his interests include medical management, clinical leadership, quality improvement and medical education.

He has a keen interest in teaching and a diverse range of research interests. He has been invited to speak and has also had work published at both national and international levels. He participates in annual appraisal, continuing medical education and attends conferences and courses to ensure that his skills are up to date.

He has undertaken specialist training in the field of medical aesthetics and he is fully insured with Hamilton Fraser.

Having spent many years performing injection therapies, he has developed an interest in the injection of botulinum toxins and dermal fillers for facial rejuvenation.

He is keen to use his expert knowledge and skills to help you achieve your potential.
